Since opening in June 2012, Chris and Colette Rogers have enjoyed a busy time at this popular family butchers in the heart of West Wales. Through hard work and a commitment to quality and customer service, Rogers & Son has already begun to earn an excellent reputation. This reputation has been recognised by winning the prestigious title of Butcher Shop of the Year after being shortlisted as finalists in 2012, 2013 and 2014. More recently the business has won Retailer of the Year for the Carmarthenshire means business awards. So we are now proud to call ourselves an Award Winning Butcher Shop. Chris has also experienced a taste of media fame when the BBC Good Food Guide interviewed him In November 2016 edition, and appearing on television for S4C demonstrating butchery techniques for the Royal Welsh Show.
Chris has a wealth of experience in the industry, previously working for 14 years at an award winning Pembrokeshire butchers. Chris’s family also has a rich heritage of butchery – his grandfather’s family ran a number of butcher’s shops across the Rhymney Valley in the post-war years. The traditional techniques of this ancient art have been passed down to Chris over the years, who still uses many old methods in conjunction with modern practices utilizing today’s latest technology.
Chris and Colette have ambitious plans for the future to bring their high quality West Wales meats to wider markets across Wales and beyond.

Our mouth watering traditional Daily Carvery is something that you have to try. Our Beef, Pork, Lamb & Turkey are cooked daily to juicy and tender perfection, served in a large soft white or brown roll, that has been freshly baked that morning….a truly satisfying lunch time option… Delicious! For you early birds, we also offer breakfast rolls from 7.30 am – 11am.
We also offer a wide range of our own chutneys, relishes and sauces to compliment our fine variety of quality meats. We also like to support local producers in our community, so we stock a wide range of local beers, ciders and wines in the hope of creating a truly traditional country town butchers that is there to serve and support the community.
Rogers & Son are proud to announce that we now offer a Hog Roast & BBQ Service, and also once again are keeping it in the family as Chris’ brother & sister-in-law (Darren & Kate Rogers) have stepped up to the challenge after previously working in the catering industry for 16 years.

This reputation has been recognised with the business being shortlisted for the prestigious award of National Butcher Shop of the Year, in 2012, 2013 and very recently again for the 2014 award, which will be announced this November in London.
